Guardian Warm Roof

A Guardian warm roof is not a cheap alternative or replacement roof for your conservatory or other roofing project, it’s a custom made specific lightweight roofing solution without comparison.

Most people who enter a Guardian warm roofed conservatory for the first time simply see the bright, airy space with it’s impressive vaulted ceiling finished in either matt painted plaster, timber panelling or maintenance free plastic, fitted with roof windows and / or LED downlighters and maybe a central feature chandelier to really set things off your simple conservatory really can become a day or night room to be proud of. A real room.

All that space you paid for can finally become what you intended it to be, a playroom for the children, a family dining room, a social area or simply somewhere quiet to relax.

There is literally nothing else currently on the market that can offer you a completely bespoke built lightweight roof suitable for installation upon conservatory framework that has a tested and guarenteed insulation ‘U’ value of 0.18, better insulation than double glazed units.

All that space you paid for can finally become what you intended it to be, a playroom for the children, a family dining room, a social area or simply somewhere quiet to relax.                             Not too hot, not too cold, not too noisy….. Somewhere peaceful.

There is literally nothing else currently on the market that can offer you a completely bespoke built lightweight roof suitable for installation upon conservatory framework that has a tested and guarenteed insulation ‘U’ value of 0.18 and can turn that under used conservatory into real room, and subject to certain conditions can be classed as a true extention to your property, adding real, as opposed to subjective value to your home.

Starting on the inside, the part you, your friends and your family will be seeing the most of….

The basic internal finish is simple smooth plaster work, the same as the rest of your house walls and probably ceilings. Painted white the vaulted high ceiling effectively bounces all the available light around and creates a light and airy room. This example also shows roof windows for additional natural daylight. Available as manual operation, electric automatic operation and with or without blinds

Alternatives to basic painted plasterwork are also available should you wish something to set this new room apart from the others or indeed to blend in with the others.

Wooden “tongue and groove” planking in natural or painted pine, oak faced or painted timber panelling in Georgian or contemporary styles and even wipe clean PVC panelling for easy maintenance

Lighting is another common question regarding the interior of your new room after a Guardian roof has been fitted and the simple answer is yes, there will be less direct light coming in from the roof, even if you opt for roof windows. But exactly how dark do you other rooms get and do they have as much glazing as your conservatory ? You will tend to find you simply won’t need lighting in your new room during the daytime, it quite simply won’t be that dark, just different.

The example above uses some stategically places lamps and a simple wall light to provide night time illumination but we can also install energy efficient LED  down lighters into the ceiling for you or fit just about any feature light you wish, from contemporary lights to the chandeliers you wouldn’t normally have the ceiling height for in a typical home. Find one you like and double check with us, but basically if it hangs from the ceiling or screws to it we can fit it. (Lights IN the ceiling such as recessed downlighters have to be a certain type which we supply.)

Externally we prefer the slightly more expensive Tapco slates.

A specialist man made lightweight replica slate with BBA approval and a limited lifetime warranty. Available in several colours (The black and the plum are almost perfect replicas of the two main colours of genuine Welsh slate) these really are indistiguishable from real slates and really do look in keeping with practically any building.

An alternative to the Tapco slate is the Metrotile shingle, Cheaper and quicker to install but again it’s a BBA approved roofing material with a warranty and is an effective grit covered steel slate profile sheet and is also available in numerous colours.
